Behavioural Therapy
Behavioural therapy
consists of a set of clinical procedures that rely on the experimental
findings of psychological research. This therapy is based on principles
of learning, and these are systematically applied in treatment.
The treatment goals of this therapy are specific and measurable,
and focus on the client's current problems. The therapy helps
people change maladaptive behaviors into adaptive behaviors. The
therapy is largely educational and teaches clients the skills
of self-management. See the section on Behavioral
Psychology for more information.
